If you have ever wanted to know more about the causes and patterns of crime or learn the truth about social class in Britain today, this is the course for you! It provides a comprehensive introduction to sociology with an emphasis on understanding real-life situations.
Subjects covered include: sociology studies, understanding families, exploring divorce, education and inequality, exploring crime and deviance, understanding crime statistics, changing patterns of work, social class, understanding poverty, migration and movement, politics and power.

The course also includes an exam guide with useful advice and guidance for students preparing to sit the exam.

Our course is composed of 42 easy-to-follow topics. There are 13 tutor-marked assignments.
Specification: AQA 3192 - one written paper and coursework. Students can enter for the Foundation or Higher tier. Registering for the Foundation tier enables students to achieve grades C-G, while the Higher tier enables them to achieve a A*-D. Your tutor can help you to decide which tier to enter before you register for the exam.
Students are required to arrange their own examinations and to pay an examination fee. Details of examination dates and examination enrolment deadlines are included in the 'Exam Guide'.
All Learning Curve courses are self-contained and include a core textbook. However, you may find it helpful to read other books too, to give you a broader view of your subject. The Internet is also a great source of research material and your will find references to bother further reading and suitable websites throughout your course material.
You can spread the cost of your course over 8 months by choosing our instalment option. When you choose this option you pay the fee in four instalments, one every two months. There is a £20 administration fee if you choose this option. Normal instalment price £315 + £20: Deposit - £60; four instalments - £68.75. If booking on-line, November offer: £267.75 + £20; deposit - £60; four instalments - £56.94 each. You will only be charged the deposit when you enrol.
