Study topics include: person-centred counselling; the work of Carl Rogers; personal development; the counselling dyad; theoretical and practical foundations; counselling supervision; continuing professional development; the process of therapeutic change; key issues: bereavement, depression, self-esteem building, relationship issues, social skills, personal development, goal-setting and achievement. Includes study materials, textbooks and full tutorial support.
Students have up to three years to complete this course, allowing them to work through the modules at their own pace. On average, however, it takes students around 10 - 12 months to complete the course, based on 5 - 7 hours study time per week. The course also requires 15 hours of counselling practice.
